Liverpool is a major multicultural centre in the metropolitan area of Sydney due its uniquely diverse range of residents.
The suburb is the major city centre in South Western Sydney, having a population of 24,000 from a broad range of backgrounds residents are spoilt for choice in regards to food and shopping.
It is located in Greater Western Sydney, 32 kilometres (20 mi) south-west of the Sydney central business district, in New South Wales.
Being founded in 1810, Liverpool is one of the oldest urban settlements in Australia and its historic beauty is visible as several of its buildings are listed on the Register of the National Estate or the State Heritage Register.
The area is very well served by both public transport, including train and bus services to Sydney CBD and out suburbs, and roads such as the Hume Highway, the M5 motorway and the Westlink M7 motorway.
Education for every age group, skill level and interests are available at a number of facilities throughout the area. There are three public primary schools within the suburb, as well as a number of private schools and post secondary education options including TAFE, English language centres and a school of arts.
