The AMES employment team at Epping has supported a jobseeker into work despite some setbacks.

Sosan Ahmadi, a determined 23-year-old, arrived at AMES Employment with a passion for finding work.

Sosan was enrolled in a Certificate IV Mental Health course but also expressed a strong desire to find employment.

AMES Employment Mentor Supriya Verma stepped up to help Sosan achieve her career aspirations.

Supriya provided Sosan with comprehensive job readiness training, including resume and cover letter preparation, as well as counselling on the importance of work in one's life.

Sosan actively participated in a job fair, displaying her commitment to securing a job.

During this time, AMES Employer Engagement Specialist Prasant Modi discussed with her an upcoming information session in West Melbourne scheduled for March 27, which Sosan eagerly agreed to attend.

Her job search soon bore fruit as Sosan received a job offer from an employer in Craigieburn. However, the role required only two hours of work per day, which did not meet her needs.

Undeterred, the team at AMES team continued to support her and Prasant sent her resume to AFG Fruit and Veg for a Customer Service role with Sosan's agreement.

Sosan's perseverance paid off as she was invited for an interview, to which Prasant accompanied her for support.

Following the successful interview and a two-day unpaid trial, Sosan secured the Customer Service position.

Supriya said Sosan's journey from education to employment was a testament to her determination and the unwavering support of the AMES employment team at Epping.

“Her story serves as an inspiration, proving that with the right support and persistence, success is within reach," she said.
