    CHC50121 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care

     
    This qualification reflects the role of educators in early childhood education and care who work in regulated children’s education and care services in Australia.
    Educators at this level are responsible for designing and implementing a curriculum that meets the requirements of an approved learning framework and for maintaining compliance in other areas of service operations. They use specialised knowledge and analyse and apply theoretical concepts to diverse work situations. They may have responsibility for the supervision of volunteers or other educators.
    Early childhood educators work in long daycare centres, family daycare, pre-schools or kindergartens.
    • This course will prepare you for an Early childhood educator job in the Early Childhood Education and Care industry.
    • You will be required to study 12 core units and 3 electives.
    • AMES Australia organises a work placement of 280 hours for each student at a regulated childcare service. All students are supervised during their placement.
    • Early childhood educators work in long day care centres, family day care, pre-schools or kindergartens.
    • All AMES Australia industry certificate courses provide specialist English language support for refugees and migrants.

    How will I learn?

    The course will be offered in Mixed Mode Delivery

    • Classroom-based Learning (Face to face), where you attend AMES' campus with a Teacher/Trainer present
    • Online Learning, where you studies remotely off campus via MS Teams, using training materials that are provided online or correspondence by the Teacher/Trainer

    Timetable

    Fulltime: One day blended and one day structured learning

    Fridays: Blended (Face-to-face and online) : 09:00 AM - 04:00 PM

    Directed structured activities: 04:00 PM - 05:00 PM 

    Self-directed learning: 8hrs/week

    Eligibility

    Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital Assessment is required - Must have completed Cert III in Early Childhood Education and Care

    Course duration

    16 months plus 280 hours of practical work placement

    An intermediate level of English is required, however your English level will be assessed on application.

    One of the following should also apply:

    • an Australian Citizen
    • a Permanent Resident
    • a holder of a permanent visa
    • a New Zealand citizen

    Asylum Seekers now eligible for Skills First courses

    Training Providers which are TAFE Institutes or Learn Local Organisations are now able to confirm an individual’s eligibility for the Asylum Seeker VET Program by using the Commonwealth Visa Entitlement Verification Online (VEVO) to confirm if the individual holds a valid:

    • Bridging Visa Class E (BVE)
    • Safe Haven Enterprise (SHEV)
    • Temporary Protection Visa (TPV)

    Cost

    This training is delivered with Victorian and Commonwealth Government funding. Please refer to the schedule of fees for more information here or contact AMES Australia to check your eligibility for a concession fee.

    There may be extra charges for learning materials, first aid certificate, police check & etc. 

    A fee concession to a student enrolled under the Asylum Seeker VET Program can then be granted in accordance with the Guidelines about Fees.
